Richmond’s Hope provides support for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have been bereaved. The charity provides a safe space for children to work through their grief both verbally and non-verbally, to preserve memories of the person who has died, to explore their feelings, to develop coping strategies and to understand the impact the bereavement has had on their lives.
We are recruiting a Chair to help govern the charity, ensuring we remain legally compliant, financially sound, and true to our mission. Trustees, led by the Chair, provide strategic oversight and support to the leadership team. The Chair supports the CEO. We have a mostly new and enthusiastic board of Trustees. Our current chair is stepping back due to other commitments but will remain as a Trustee.
We have staff/Trustee working groups in areas of HR, finance and marketing/comms to support the leadership team. Our CEO and leadership team are experienced professionals with a passion for our mission. We are in a development and growth phase with our Business Plan very much a working document.
We are looking for someone who has experience of charity boards, chairing meetings and facilitating discussions; who is a strategic thinker with excellent communication and relationship building skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Richmond's Hope and an understanding of good charity governance are vital.
Experience as a chair, fundraising. finance, legal or HR expertise are desirable.
